- Get explanations of entire webpages in simple terms
- Explain selected text from any webpage
- Choose from different explanation modes (ELI5, Business, Technical)
- View your explanation history stored locally on your device
2.2 Service Availability
The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:
- The Service will be available at all times
- The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
- All explanations will be accurate or complete
- The Service will meet your specific requirements
The Service may be unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical issues, or factors beyond our control.
3. User Responsibilities and Acceptable Use
3.1 Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Your use of the Extension and any content you request to be explained
- Ensuring you have the right to access and explain the content you submit

- Use the Extension to generate explanations for malicious purposes
- Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any entity

The explanations provided by ExplainThis are generated using artificial intelligence (Groq API). These explanations are:
- Generated automatically and may contain errors, inaccuracies, or omissions
- Simplified interpretations of the original content
- Not guaranteed to be complete, accurate, or up-to-date
- Subject to the limitations and biases of AI technology
4.2 Your Responsibility for Verification
You acknowledge and agree that:
- AI-generated explanations should not be your sole source of information for important decisions
- You should verify important information independently
- You should use your judgment when interpreting explanations
- We are not responsible for any decisions or actions you take based on AI-generated explanations

The explanations provided by the Extension are for informational purposes only and do not constitute:

5. Third-Party Services

ExplainThis uses Groq API to generate explanations. By using the Extension, you acknowledge that:

- Damages resulting from decisions or actions taken based on AI-generated explanations
Our total liability, if any, shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Extension (which is currently $0, as the Extension is free).

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless ExplainThis, its owners, operators, employees, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
- Your use or misuse of the Extension
- Your violation of these Terms of Service
- Your violation of any law or regulation
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content you submit or request to be explained
9. Termination
9.1 Termination by You
You may stop using the Extension at any time by:
- Disabling the Extension in Chrome's extension settings
- Uninstalling the Extension from your browser
Upon uninstallation, locally stored explanation history will be removed from your device.
9.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to:
- Suspend or terminate your access to the Extension at any time, with or without cause or notice
- Modify, discontinue, or remove features of the Extension
- Stop providing the Extension entirely
We may terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms of Service or engage in any prohibited uses.
10. Changes to Terms of Service
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by:
- Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page
- Posting a notice in the Extension (if significant changes occur)
Your continued use of the Extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Extension.
